Canvases.

One of the questions we get asked most is: "Why white?"

The answer goes back to a dream. Years before Jesus OverAlls® became a company, I dreamed I was in heaven and everyone was epically wearing white. The image stayed with me long after I woke up, and when it came time to design our very first pair of OverAlls, I didn't spend much time choosing a color, I already had one.

Then we started taking them to markets. And almost immediately people began asking, "Do they come in black?"

After hearing it enough times, I started thinking,"Maybe they're onto something." So we made them in black and the story got bigger. White reminds me of His light. Black reminds me of the protection of His shadow. Both are His wraparound presence.

Then something else happened. People started looking at the white OverAlls a little differently: "I don't want to keep them white...," "Do you have more patches?,"  "Mom, can I draw on them?"

My answer was always...yes, please! That's exactly what I would've done. As I watched people imagine what they could create, I realized something. The OverAlls were beginning to look less like garments and more like canvases.

Canvases that weren't meant to stay white. They were meant to collect stories: a child's first drawing, a favorite Scripture, paint splotches from painting your first apartment or what can become decorated memories e.g., stains, from a roadtrip that marked a new chapter.

Beautiful revisions and repairs, not replacements. 

The more people wanted to make them their own, the more I realized that we'd gotten something right. Jesus OverAlls® aren't meant to end with our creativity, they're meant to invite yours.

That's why customization has become such a big part of where we're headed. Soon, our line will include ways to mark milestones, tell stories, and make each garment uniquely their own. We hope they'll grow more meaningful with every season and every generation.
